ARTIST NOTES: I always look forward to Saturday mornings in Flemington. My walks are energetic and intentioned, absorbing the scents of banh mi, coffee and suqaar. I often pass my neighbour's flowering gums and ritually admire their changing colours in bloom. I sense their stillness against the lively hubbub of a town waking up. A whisper in motion. This painting is a culmination of my daily observations combined into one, a collection of crisp mornings, ready to take on the day.
