The Australian Watercolour Muster Biennale - 2027

The Australian Watercolour Muster is NOT a Competition, rather intended as an interactive Art Symposium and sharing of Artworks through Exhibition, with Workshops and opportunities to celebrate Watercolour in Australia and Internationally and to assist Artists grow their Studio practices, networks and skills.

The goal is - to create opportunities for our Australian Artists - giving exposure and acceptance for Artists and their Work leading to more commercial capability for themselves and the arts sectors internationally, by networking and sharing in Exhibition where and when possible in this world.

Australian Watercolour Muster Biennale - 2027 -
To Be Held @ The Mill - 154 Angas St, Adelaide SA 5000

We will very shortly finalise the update of our Australian Watercolour Muster Website to announce the Program for 2027 and to also announce how we will invite Australian and International Artists to participate in our Events 2027 - which will include and Exhibition, Workshops and Creative Development Workshops to enable Artists to expand their Studio practices and go global if this is the direction they would like to take.

The Building Blocks - Sharing in Fabriano/Bologna Italy 2025/26

• The goal of the 'Australian Watercolour Muster' is to celebrate the best of Australian Art and build opportunities for our Australian Artists to mix it with the best of International Artists through our liaison with the network formed across 80 countries - as part of FabrianoInAcquarello - Italy and other key Art Centres/Events around the world.
  
  
• The Australian Watercolour Muster Curator and Team - collaborate with the Curatorial Team of FabrianoInAcquarello -Italy have released information and invitations to Australian Artists to be part of the FabrianoInAcquarello - Italy 'Call' for Artists and this year 2026 - we have 14 Artists on Exhibition in Italy commencing on the 21st April 2026 in Fabriano Italy!

- Sharing in Caudete - Spain 2026

A special opportunity has been extended to Australia to be the Guest Nation at the - VIII BIENAL INTERNACIONAL DE ACUARELA CAUDETE - 2026!

• In 2022 India was the guest nation with Amit Kapoor leading his country group for the exhibition, and
• in 2024 Italy was the guest nation lead by Anna Massinissa from Fabriano Italy.  
• 2026 will mark the official Guest Nation as ‘Australia’ , lead by Caroline Deeble.

The Guest Nation Exhibition is  delivered in a beautiful setting and opened by a delegate from the official Guest Nation Embassy to Spain, the Town Mayor and leading directors of the Biennial Committee. 

The 2026 events planned will be a magnificent showcase of the talent of Australian watercolour artists.

• In consultation with our Artist Caroline Deeble - Leader for Spain 2026, we planned to select five (5) of our Australian Artists from our '32 Best in Muster' 2025 to have their Work taken to Caudete - Spain, for Exhibition along with a number of other key Australian Artists to represent Australia.

Selection for this honour was via a Popular Vote - by all of us in Cairns at The Australian Watercolour Muster Biennale - in September/November 2025, these Artists have now been notified and are:

• Sahan Kulathunge
• Colleen Hellmore
• William Ritchie
• Yesim Gorzukara
• Elaine Zhang (under 30’s)

We will also keep you updated with more information about both of these international Art Events/opportunities as we progress through 2026.
