Key Dates for Artists for the Australian Watercolour Muster Biennale - 2025
- Monday 5th of May 2025 - The ‘Call For Artists’ to submit their Watercolour Work will commence. Work submitted will be for selection to be Finalists in the Australian Watercolour Muster Biennale - 2025, and
- Saturday 5th of July 2025 - Close of Submissions to allow for Judging
- 5th July 2025 - Judging to commence and be conducted by the Panel of Jurors
- 15 July 2025 - Finalists will be notified of their acceptance into the Australian Watercolour Muster Biennale 2025 - by Category of Acceptance
- 15 July 2025 - shipping of Artwork to begin - Artists notified that their Work has been accepted for Exhibition need to be ready to ship the Work - Express Post to The Curator - of the Australian Watercolour Muster Biennale - 2025 (Delivery Address will be advised with the Acceptance Letter).
Exhibition/Artwork Sale Dates:
- 17th September to 8th November 2025 - All Finalists Artwork will be available for ‘Online Sale’ from the Australian Watercolour Muster Digital - Online Gallery – 2025
- 17th September to 8th November 2025 - 32 Best in Muster Works will be on Exhibition in the 'Court House Gallery - Cairns Australia and available for sale from the Online Gallery digitally anywhere in Australia as well as physically from the Court House Cairns.
- 17th September to 8th November 2025 - Selected International Artists Works will be on Exhibition in the 'Court House Gallery - Cairns Australia and available for sale from the Online Gallery digitally anywhere in Australia as well as physically from the Court House Cairns.
Workshops and Demonstration Dates - the details for these will be in the Full Program shortly:
- 18th to 23rd September 2025 - are the Dates for our live 'Muster' of Artists with a series of Workshops - Trade Shows and opportunities to share and mix with Artists from all over Australia and from our International networks who will be joining us again in Cairns.
Entry Fee for Artworks in All Categories - $AUD45.00
All Entry Prices for all Artists Australian and International - Categories 1 to 4 are $AUD45.00 per Painting or 3D Sculpture Works.
- Categories 1 to 3 - are open to Australian Artists only and each Artist may enter up to 3 items as they choose in each Category.
- Category 4 - Is our new Category designed to include Exhibition Work/submissions from our International Artists to be part of our Australian Watercolour Muster Biennale - 2025, without having to wait for an Invitation as we have done in the past.
International Artists are welcome to enter up to 3 pieces of Work as they would like in Category 4 - each Entry is $AUD45.00 per Artwork.
All Entries will be Exhibited and available for sale on our Australian Watercolour Muster Biennale - 2025 Digital Exhibition Platform.
A select number of International Artworks will be chosen to be physically Exhibited and available for sale in Cairns - at the Court House Gallery over the period 17 September to 8 November 2025 - International Artists who have entered Category 4 will be advised by the 15th July 2025 of their acceptance for Physical exhibition to allow time for them to ship their Work to Australia.
Return of Artworks to the Artists:
9th November 2025 - Artists living in Cairns or surrounds are requested to pick up their unsold Artwork on the 9th November 2025 from the Court House Gallery between the hours of 10am and 4pm.
9th November 2025 - All other unsold Artwork will be returned from Cairns to the Curator of the Australian Watercolour Muster 2025 ready for shipping to individual Artists at their designated mailing addresses by Australia Post.
- Works will be returned to individual Artists by the Curator in the original packing and it is the responsibility of the Artist to ensure the packing material is sufficient for the return transportation of the work.
- ** Please Note: the cost of shipping and insurance of individuals Artwork to and from the Curator of the Australian Watercolour Muster Biennale Exhibition is the responsibility of the Artists - the Curator will notify the Artists when their Artwork is about to be shipped at the end of the Australian Watercolour Muster Biennale on the 8th November 2025 and returned to their nominated address, with the Australia Post costs included and the Curator will wait for the payment of this to come through prior to shipping the Work back to the Artist.
Insurance
The Australian Watercolour Muster Biennale and The Court House Gallery - Cairns will exercise all reasonable care in handling works submitted but will not be responsible for loss or damage to any work whilst in the custody of The Australian Watercolour Muster Biennale and The Court House Gallery - Cairns or their agents. Artists are recommended to insure their work against loss or damage. Artists are responsible for their own transit insurance.
